Children’s Week 2024 began on Saturday, October 19. This annual celebration occurs around the fourth Wednesday in October and aims to highlight the rights and achievements of children.
The week serves as a reminder that all children deserve to enjoy their childhood. It encourages them to showcase their talents, skills, and abilities, fostering a spirit of creativity and self-expression.
Bowen is hosting an event on October 26th to celebrate the yearly event at the Soundshell.
The event will feature a free BBQ, along with a variety of exciting games and activities for families to enjoy. Communities across the country participate in events throughout this week, engaging schools, playgroups, childcare centers, kindergartens, cultural organisations, libraries, and local community groups.
Children’s Week is celebrated at national, state, and local levels, shining a spotlight on the rights and achievements of children. Since 1996, the theme “A Caring World Shares” has served as a guiding principle for the week, reminding everyone involved in a child's life of the importance of nurturing and supporting their development.
