Absolutely jampacked full of some of the best handmade and locally produced jewellery, pillows, baked goodies, crockery, and decorations, the Proserpine Community Markets are any treasure hunter’s delight.
Happening only every three months, this quarter’s community market is gearing up to be an event not to miss, with new stalls welcomed, as well as Wildlife Whitsundays Encounters bringing the weird, the wacky, and the wonderful animals for all to see and interact with.
“There is so much entertainment for kids!” Tarnia Patton, Market Coordinator, explained.
“The Wildlife Encounter is perfect for kids, and I use the term ‘kids’ loosely; it’s great for kids of all ages!”
This quarter’s fundraising recipient is Dannielle Hanns, who is running to support and raise awareness for Kidney Health with Red Socks Run.
Throughout the month of October, Dannielle will run, walk, or ride 60 kilometres for the 60 hours that people affected by kidney disease need to spend on dialysis each month.
“We find it important to support local charities and local people,” Tarnia explained.
“Dannielle shares her story, which we find inspiring, and we appreciate. She is doing something really good, and raising awareness for a health issue that is often overlooked.”
These Community Markets are the second last of the year, with the following market scheduled for December 10.
